So, I’m sure the trolls will be in touch about this post, accusing me of self-promotion and big noting myself.
Meh, maybe I am.
I’m starting a new business venture, I want it to be a success so why not tap into my large social media following and blog readers to promote it. It’s smart business sense 😉
Plus I’m really, really excited!
Fashion was always MY thing. Yep, I was one of those people that when you ask them what their hobbies were mine was Shopping. And seriously it was.
Before kids and funnily enough, before I had a beautiful walk-in wardrobe – I owned all the latest fashion from head to toe. I always received comments on my styling and how well everything was put together. This was because I would spend hours reading fashion magazines (back in the day before everything was accessible on the Internet) and putting together high end looks on the cheap.
In fact, one of my favourite TV shows was a US show called “The Look for Less” hosted by ex-Survivor contestant Elisabeth Hasselbeck (actually, it looks like the show is still on the air in the US) where she would show you how to put together styles for …. less!.
After watching the show I would visit op shops and markets looking for bargains to put together the perfect outfits.
Then kids came along and fashion for myself went by the by but I discovered kids fashion!!
Even though my own personal style has changed, fashion is still a hobby and passion for me.
About 12 months ago I started hitting the op shops again and began loving the different pieces that could be found. There are so many different op shops around these days and on any given day you can stumble across lovely vintage pieces just waiting to be recycled.
I’ve had this thought that someone should start a business putting together complete looks from all the pieces you can find at op shops. It was something I would have loved to do but just couldn’t find the time or money to plan it out and start it up.
Fast forward to today and the dream is almost a reality. In a couple of weeks time, That Style Is Mine will be launched. It’s an online fashion store where I put together complete head to toe looks at a fraction of the cost.
To give you an example, this is my own signature look for summer. I actually call this look “Taylor” because it’s also loosely based on the street style of Taylor Swift. With this particular look, the entire style with the final accessories we decide on will cost less than $30aud. That will include the clothing, shoes and accessories. You can either choose to purchase the complete style as is or just pieces from the style.
That Style Is Mine doesn’t just focus on womenswear, I also have something for men, children and also your home. I have varying sizes as well.
Here’s the link to the Facebook page, there’s also a website and Instagram account but in the interest of not over-promoting, I’ll leave it up to you to click on posts on the Facebook page to find these 🙂
AND, if you have an idea in your head, a passion for something or you’re just not content with where you are. Go and do something about it!!! It can be very scary but the joy of seeing everything come together outweighs any fear.
Anything is possible if you put your mind to it 🙂
