Numbers are overwhelming at times and 5000 is no different. Today I reached 5000 Facebook followers.
5000 has come along really quickly, I expected to reach this number after my book launch so forgive me, I’m a little under prepared.
Sometimes I don’t feel like I get my message across effectively. I have a few followers who I communicate with on a regular basis who tell me that just watching me live and grow is getting the message across but as I reach 5000 Facebook followers I’d like to write about my message.
If you have an idea, a dream or just a need to do something different. Do it! I cannot stress that enough. Do it. If you feel like you are stuck, you don’t have to be. Work out what you need to do to change your situation and do it. The first step is the hardest. BELIEVE ME. I know.
Deciding to leave my marriage was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Sure, the actual leaving was fleeing after a bitter argument but the decision not to return and to go alone as a single Mum with 4 children was extremely difficult.
Writing was not really a dream of mine until now. Reading has never been a hobby. I was already writing a journal as a form of therapy and when it was suggested that I should start a blog to share the experiences and feelings I have faced I think I actually laughed.
Now, I have a blog with over 100 entries and in a little under 3 weeks I am publishing a book. This week I have started a plan for a new book – fiction this time (well, semi fiction!) and I’m absolutely loving what I do.
I have started my own business and built a client base from nothing. NOTHING. Yes, I work incredibly long hours and incredibly hard but because I love it so much it hardly feels like work.
Building this new life around my personal circumstances so that I could be home with my children, go to school sports or assemblies, take them to appointments and be there for them was not something I thought was possible 2 years ago. And yet, here I am.
One thing I have learned is to never doubt yourself. There is no such thing as failure. There are bumps in the road and detours you might not expect but each one is making you a stronger person and taking you closer to where you need to be.
If you have a story to tell, tell it, you never know where it will take you.
If you want to change your life, change it. If there’s something stopping you figure out what that is and if it’s fear – don’t give into it. Fear is the ugly sister of success!
Thank you, although overwhelming – 5000 feels nice and has come at a time when I need a bit of a boost to get through this exciting yet busy time.
And now for some blatant cross promotion 😉 if you’re new to my blog check out the excerpt I released recently from my recently released book.
Once again, thank you x
